Tn deiermining ihe location of the proposed szdewalk we consider�d the foilowir�g in%rmation: • �bstz�uctipns wzt�i� the ri�ht- o�= way (Fower poles, Hyd�az�ts, eable bo�es, trees, etc.): the majority of t�e power po�es are an the sau�h side o� the street. • Driveways: T�e narth side o� the road i�as 2 X dx�veways. The sau�h side of ihe xoad �ias 1� driveways. There �,re fewer driveway crossings on the so�th szde o�Iioselavvn. • Locatian o£ existing sidewalks: The Roselawn sidewali� west of Snel�ing is Iocaied on the souih s'rde of �he road. The pathway aIor�g Roselawn east of Lexingtnn is on t�e south side of the road. • Road align�ez�t: �f we weare ta pu� the sidewalic on the nort� szde as rvell as �he parking lane, t�e south side wduld still have tk�e z�oad 5 feet cIoser to the homes, but �ot have a l�uffer �o t�e taraffc. This would also shift the cent�rline p�the roac� 8 feet south Q�'ihe existing Roselawn c�nter�z�e west af Snellin� and East of �amline creatiz�g an unsafe candition for �vehicles through these intersect�ans. �f we put ih� sidevvalk on the nart� side and parkiz�g o�: t�e sauth sic�e, the converse would happen. T�e centerlrne of the road vvouid be shifte�. 8 feet to i�e north of the exis�ing Raselaw� centerlir�e west af SnelIing and East of Harnline creating an uz�sa£e canciitio� for v�hic�es traveIing througk� these anter,�ections. As a res�.lt of this analyszs we recommend that ihe szdewalk be constructed alang the soutkr szde of the roadway. Initia�ly r�� pro�ased to cons�ruct the s�dewalk separated fram the roadway by a S-£oat boulevard. At our October �vaik thru meeting a�urr�bex o� paroperty owrters were coneerr�ed about the proximity o�t�e s�dewalk to the ho�ses. They also wexe co�:cern�d abaut maintaining the narro�v strip nf grass between t�e sidewal�C a�ad str�et. In the interest a� adc�essing ih�se conccrns, we propase to constr�ct an 8- foQi wide attac�ed coz�cre�e sidewalk, instead of the 6- foot wide detached sidewalk. �n the intez�est c�£ addressing the concerns brougnt �p at the Januazy 11 �'ublic Hearing, we ar� proposing to cor�s�ruc� three 20 £oat by 2 foot planting beds on eac� black to provide an opportunity to plan� daylilies along t�e bouievard. Sto�m water: This roac� zs located within Capita� Region Watershed Dis�rict as vvell as Rice Creek Watershed Di��rict. We wa1� be installing storm water quality treatznez�t as areq�irec�. to �aeet the watershed dis�'icts permitting req�ireznez�ts. We have met with �he watersl�ed tp discu�s �heir requiremen:ts. Financial impiications: This p�oject is proposed �o be fianded by a ca�xa�i�a�ion of Municipal Sta�e Aic� �unds, in�rastructure funds, and utilziy fiands.
