City Ca�z�cii Study Session — 01/2310G <br />DRAFT Minuies - Page 4 <br />2.a.� Fund�ng for the OVAL Funding for the <br />Parks a�d Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke OVAL <br />provided a chranologica� summaxy o� �he activities <br />a�xeady having taken place regarding the 2006 Capital <br />Bonding Bill request £or �he Guidant John Rose <br />Mznnesata OVAL, as prcviously outlined by the <br />OVAL Task Force; and directed by City Counci� for <br />pursuit of fi�nding. <br />Mr. Brokke noted the involvement o� Councilmembe�r <br />Maschka in pursuing the funding; and the exteni to <br />which �he City ni Roseville had provided local, <br />private and user financing for the OVAZ over the <br />years; and the arigina� inteni �hat the �acility's <br />regional signif cance procure regiana� financing. <br />M�r. B�okke �reviewed various capital improvemen� <br />needs at the OVAL; recent iouxs p�rov�ded by staff to <br />variaus Sena�e and House representatives and the <br />�enate Cap�tal inves�men� Committee; and inclusinn <br />of their input and suggestions to ensure their suppori. <br />Nfr. Brokke advised that staff and �he OVAL Task <br />FO�'C�, along with Councilmember IVlaschka, would <br />con�inue to wo�rk w�th �oca� Representatives and <br />Senator IVlarty to pur�ue success o�' the fiznding <br />reques�. <br />City Managex Beets advised Couneilmembers that <br />stafi wouid eontinue to pursu� th� ztems as detai�ed <br />by Mur.
