I regularly train in the areas of cultural diversity, strategic planning, organization and <br />management systems, conflict management, and board development. My greatest interests <br />include restorative justice, large g�oup/citizen engagement processes, and effective outcomes and <br />performance measurement. <br />I have facilitated state level sessions for the Association of MN Counties, the MN State Council <br />on Child Support Enforcement, Metropolitan Waste Control Commission, MN State Library <br />system, and dozens of other local government and nonprofit organizations in Minnesota and the <br />United States. My work with national groups has included the National Association of Volunteer <br />Administrators, Fellowship of Reconciliation, International Victim Offender Mediation, National <br />Association of Jewish Women, Episcopal Church Publishing Company, Murder Victims' <br />Families for Reconciliation, and American Association of Community Justice Professionals. I <br />have also conducted training in Romania, Cyprus, and Kenya. <br />My first position in Minnesota was as a Governor's appointee to serve as the executive director <br />of the MN State Humane Society where I assisted over 40 communities throughout the sate to <br />develop their own programs to address the safety and treatment of domestic animals. I also <br />served for four years as the Director of Victim Services for the MN State Department of <br />Corrections and as the Director of Policy, Planning, and Organization Development for Ramsey <br />County. In all three positions I worked directly with elected officials at the local and state level <br />on planning and policy issues. <br />I served as the director of the training and consulting group at Wilder Foundation worl�ing with <br />dozens of nonprofit and public sector organizations throughout the metro area. I have also <br />served as an adjunct instructor in the Masters Degree Program in Public Administration and <br />Nonprofit Management and Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota for 4 years. My courses <br />included a Certificate Program in Outcomes and Performance Measurement, Governance and <br />Planning for Nonprofit Organizations, and Research and Program Evaluation for Managers. I <br />also provide training and consulting through the College of St. Catherine. <br />I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. <br />Paul, MN. I also have specialized training in Minnesota Quality Award Criteria, the Peter F. <br />Drucker Foundation National Training Team - Self-AssessmentTool, Carver Policy Governance <br />Model for Boarc�s/Gavez-nzng Bodies, Myers-Briggs Qualification, Asset-BasedCommunity <br />Development - McKnigl�t/Kreitzman Northwestern University, the National Futurists "Shared <br />Participation" group process, Fellowship of Reconciliation "Children's Creative Response to <br />Conflict" and was trained as a Mediator by CDR in Boulder, Colorado. <br />
