City Council Regular Meeting — 02/27/06 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 2 <br />Met Council representative, Ms. �xis Sanda. <br />S.a Accept $692,000 Grant Certificate from Metropolitan <br />Council's Tax Base Revitalization Fund for Twin Lakes <br />Ms. Sanda, on behalf of the State of Minnesota and the <br />Metropolitan Council, presented the City of Roseville with <br />a Livable Communities Tax Base Revitalization Tax Grant <br />in the amount of $692,000.00 to assist in cleaning up <br />contaminated soils and water in the Twin Lakes <br />redevelopment area. Ms. Sanda congratulated the <br />community, on behalf of Governor Pawlenty and the <br />Metropolitan Council; and complimented City staff and the <br />City Council for the success of the grant application. Ms. <br />Sanda then presented the award certificate to Mayor <br />Klausing. <br />Mayor Klausing accepted the grant award, on behalf of the <br />City Council, citizens and staff; and thanked Ms. Sanda for <br />her assistance in obtaining the funding. Mayor Klausing <br />also acknowledged the work of staff in preparing and <br />submitting the application materials. <br />City Manager Neal Beets echoed Mayor Klau�ing's <br />comments; expressed the City's pleasure and working <br />relationship with the Metropolitan Council and Ms. Sanda <br />as the City's representative on the Met Council; and <br />expressed the City's and staffs enthusiasm upon receipt of <br />the grant funds and the imminent clean up of the <br />contaminated property. <br />Ms. Sanda thanked Mayor Klausing and City Manager <br />Beets, opining that the City of Roseville was indeed a <br />worthy recipient of the grant �u�ds. <br />$692,000 <br />Met Council Grant <br />for Twin Lakes <br />1.
