Counciim�mb�r Initia�ed Agenda I�ems Proposed Council Resolution WHEREAS; the abiiity of cnuncil rriembers to place items on the council's agenda is an imporiant tool for council �nenlbers to fulfilI their roles as elected a��cials, azxd WHEREAS; the ability of tlle council ai�d staff to e�fectiveIy mailag� their work load and to }�roperly coi�sider iteins appearing before tlaeza�� requires that they receive sufficient notice of ageilda items; THEREFORE; l�e it resolved tl�at council members have the right to place iiems on ihe agenda as follows: A cotzncil meanber may, at a council meetii�g, request that an item be placed on a futur� cauncil agenda, or; A council member may make a request for an age��da i�em outsid� of a council meeting by submitting an ernail request to the city manager, with a copy of the email to ti�e ati�er eou�ici� fne��t�t�e�°s, �aa latet° tl�a�i �3oo�i of t1�e Wednesday �r�c�ding the courYCii meeti�g. That agenda item will be included on the agenda for the next council z�aeeting ui�der the heading "Future Cauncil Agenda Items," but will not be an action item. TF�e item will beco�ne a regular council agenda ite�a (i.e., for discussion and actian) at the subsequent council �neeting, or; A caul�cil anetr��er �nay request the addition of an emergency agenda item at tl�e sanle �aneeting at wllich the item is to be addressed. However, the addition of an em�rg�ncy agenda item shall require the approval af 2/3's of ihe council �Ziembers present.
