Roseville Community Center History <br />A timeline of pertinent and interesting events and facts impacting the development of a <br />community center in the City of Roseville. <br />1`��� * Fai�-view constructed as a junior high school, one of the Roseville School <br />District buildings. This building operates as a school until the early 1980s. <br />I. �5� + City of Roseville formed Parks and Recreation department. <br />1��i� • Roseville Arena was constructed <br />1��� • Fairview Junior High reopens as Fairview Community Center, housing a <br />variety of organizations and offering facilities for community use. <br />I���`r • Roseville City Council established the Roseville Recreation Facility Task <br />Force to study indoor recreation needs of Roseville citizens, in light of <br />significant retrenchment by School District 623. Seven Roseville schools <br />were closed by 1986, causing a reduction in indoor recreation space <br />available to Parks and Recreation. <br />(Source: Parks and Recreation Facility Task Force Report, March 16, 1987) <br />I�� � . Roseville Recreation Facility Task Force identified significant reductions in <br />usable space available to Roseville Parks and Recreation, at the same time <br />that program participation was increasing.
