Councilmember Pust offered her <br />suggestions as a starting point, noting she had talked to each <br />of the individuals and they had expressed their willingness to <br />serve; and sought additional names from Councilmembers. <br />Discussion included the purpose of the steering committee to <br />provide logistical support and oversight of the two <br />anticipated brainstorming sessions and of the subcommittees <br />with preferred involvement of the entire community in the <br />brainstorming sessions to define the community's issues; <br />Council involvement and role in the brainstorming sessions; <br />and specific Council intespretation of how to seek steering <br />committee members. <br />�ounci?mem�er Ihlan spoke in support of an open <br />application process following normal procedure. <br />Ihlan moved, Kough seconded, authorizing staff to advertise <br />for applicants from all Roseville residents who are interested <br />in serving on the steering committee. <br />Public Comment <br />John Kysylyczyn, 3083 N Victoria Street <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn referenced the standing resolution on the <br />appointment process for committees; noting that the <br />proposed recommendation would not be in line with past <br />practice. <br />Councilmember Kough questioned several of the members <br />suggested by Councilmember Pust for the steering <br />committee, given their cu�-arent involvement with the City <br />(i.e., Mark Traynor as Planning Commission Chair and Bill <br />Majerus as a School Board member and HRA Chair); and <br />spoke in support of the motion to seek citizen application and <br />expertise. <br />Councilmember Pust expressed disappointment in her <br />perception of past Council action as to the process preferred; <br />and her desire to involve the entire community in the <br />
