REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval: �.; � �'I <br />'�_ <br />Date: OS/08/06 <br />Item No: 3.g <br />Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br />Item Description: Request for Approval of a Burn Permit to burn the prairie at <br />Owasso Heights Town Home Association, 2970 High Pointe Curve. <br />y .� <br />].1 <br />�_0 <br />2.L <br />�.� <br />�.� <br />;_�] <br />Requested Action <br />Prairie Restorations, Inc. is requesting City Council approval of a bum permit to bum "an <br />establishedprairie" at 2970 High Pointe Curve. <br />Background <br />Prairie Restorations Inc. is requesting a bum permit to burn the wild prairie growth on the <br />site. The area is approximately'/2 acre in size. <br />There have been no previous requests for nor have there been previous permits issued to �aurr�. <br />this site. <br />Prairie Restorations, Inc. proposes to have five trainedand experienced personnel on site to <br />conduct the bum. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />�. k It is the recommendation of the staff that the City Council authorize the Fire Marshal to issue <br />a bum permit to Prairie Restorations, Inc. to conduct the bum at 2970 High Pointe Curve for <br />the purpose of maintaining the existing prairie grass and wild flowers on the site. The permit <br />would be for the period of May 1,2006 through May 31,2006. <br />�,0 SuggestedCity CouncilAction <br />�.1 By motion, authorize the Fire Marshal to issue a bum permit to Prairie Restorations, Inc. to <br />burn the wild flowers and grasses located at 2970 High Point Curve conditioned upon <br />compliance with the following stipulations: <br />a� The effective date of the permit shall be from May 1 through May 31,2006; <br />b� The burn shall be conducted by acknowledged experts ; and, <br />�� The permittee shall notify the Neighbors directly adj acent to the property and <br />the Roseville Fire Department at least two days in advance of the date of the <br />bum. <br />Enclosure; Letter from applicant <br />
