City Council Regular Meeting— 04/24/06 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 29 <br />Public Works Director Schwartz reviewed various construction <br />and/or reconstructions projects; County iurnback roads requiring <br />City Council action for "No Parking" signage dependant on State <br />Aid standards and road widths. Mr. Schwartz noted that those <br />situations always required City Council action; and the Public <br />Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission's annual <br />review and ongoing traffic-related requests addressing <br />neighborhood concerns. Mr. Schwartz further noted that, at their <br />meeting on Apri125, 2006, part of the Commission's and staffs <br />goals, and through the community visioning process, would be to <br />develop guidelines to address various traffic issues and signage. <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the motion to maintain <br />City Council accountability and knowledge; not giving away any <br />of their authority. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan and Kough. <br />Nays: Maschka; Pust and Klausing. <br />Motion failed. <br />City Attorney <br />Councilmember <br />Section 601.05. <br />Anderson clarified, at the request of <br />Pust, that the ordinance would be adding <br />Roll Ca�� <br />Ayes: Maschka; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays: Ihlan and Kough. <br />Recess Recess <br />Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately $:06 p.m. <br />and reconvened at 8: i 4 p.m. <br />10. Appoint Steering Committee Members as Part of the <br />. Community Visioning Process <br />Mayor Klausing suggested, with Council consensus, that given <br />the qualified and eager group of applicants, consideration be <br />given to expanding the proposed steering committee for the <br />community visioning process, from five to seven members. <br />Discussion included the appointment process itself; inclusion of <br />all applications received by staff; Council direction to staff to <br />Appoint Steering <br />Committee <br />Members as Part of <br />the Community <br />Visioning Process <br />
