B. Strengthening Council-Staff Relationships <br />Council meets with staff at every Council Meeting. In addition, we recently went through some <br />team-building. <br />We could, however, have the City Manager and Department Heads meet with individual <br />Councilinembers on a regular basis, if Councilmembers so desired. For example, one week each <br />quarter, we could schedule five separate meetings between each of the five individual <br />Councilmembers and a group consisting of the Department Heads and the City Manager. I <br />envision these meetings taking place at City Hall and each person having an opportunity to <br />discuss whatever he or she wants. <br />Alternatives include: meetings between individual Councilmembers and individual staff <br />members rather than with the City Manager and Department Heads as a group; meetings semi- <br />annually or annually instead of quarterly; or meetings on an as-requested basis rather than on a <br />regular schedule. <br />Final Comments <br />Staff welcomes Council input and direction about the goal and actions steps above. Staff will be <br />available during the meeting to answer any questions. <br />� <br />
