as separate organizations, with separate meetings, budgets and financial <br />records. <br />In recent years, the duties of the Commission have included many <br />transfers of ownership and the renewal of the original franchise, as well as <br />customer service problems associated with the cable system upgrade in 1999. <br />The Commission is currently reviewing applications for franchises from two <br />companies who want to compete with the incumbent cable operator. The <br />Commission also manages the Institutional Network which serves the cities and <br />schools and other public organizations in the 10 cities. <br />Although the mission of the Access Corporation has not changed, the <br />tools used in the production of video programming have increasingly become <br />digital. In the 10 years that the Corporation has been operating public access, <br />community television has become a fixture in our cities. <br />Both the Commission and the Corporation's Board of Directors meet on <br />the first Thursday of the month, usually at the Roseville studio at 950 1NoodF�ill <br />Drive. The Commission meeting begins at 7:00 p.m., and the Corporation Board <br />meeting follows. Members of the community are welcome to attend the <br />meetings. In addition, they are cablecast live the night of the meeting and re-cast <br />every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. <br />
