Date: 06/12/06 <br />Item: l l .c <br />April 9,2003 Welcome to Roseville <br />Signage Group Signage <br />Present: CouncilmemberTom Kough, Pam Anderson, George Johnson, Carol Kriegler, <br />Dino LoSaidn, James Moses, Dustin Schwalce, Duane Schwartz, Carolyn Curti <br />Arnie Albrecht called to say that he and Ron Ness could not malce it, but the North <br />Suburban St. Paul Kiwanas are interested in supporting City signage. <br />Deb Ragatz called to say the Chamber of Commerce will not financially support the <br />proj ect. They cannot provide funding to one City. <br />Invited but did not attend: Sid Ryals, Wally Myllenbecld, Arnold Olson, Leslie Berry <br />Issues to be decided: <br />� Cost <br />� Design/Size <br />• Location <br />Tom introduced Carol Kriegler. Carol designed and made signs for Roseville Parlcs. <br />Carol distributed some design possibilities. <br />Duane said he spolce with MN DOT. They do not allow sig�age in the median. Sigr�s <br />may be placed on sides of the roads if they are in the clear zone. Clear zone depends <br />upon speed limit. MN DOT will not allow civic groups' logos on MN DOT right-nf- <br />ways. We may choose the constructionmaterials. <br />Duane offered some location suggestions. <br />� Southbound on Snelling (west side) <br />• Southbound on Lexington (west side) <br />� 35W Southbound <br />• Civic Center Drive <br />• Southbound on Rice (near railroad tracics) <br />� Lexington and Larpenteur (could add banners) <br />Based on the discussion, it appears that we are tallcing about 3 different lcinds of signs. <br />1. Welcome to Roseville (on MN DOT roadways) <br />2. Civic Center Drive directional signs (designed by Anlceny Kell) <br />3. Welcome to Roseville (with logos — by City Hall) <br />Members discussed the Welcome to Maplewood signs. They are smaller and lilcely lower <br />cost. <br />Next meeting is April 30 at 1;40 p.m. All members will bring suggestions of locations <br />for signs. Carol will provide possible designs, dimensions and costs. <br />Anlceny Kell will try to have designs for signage near City Hall. <br />
