The Ramsey County Board o f Commissioners adopted the local equipment plan <br />developed by cities and school districts in the County to acquire and operate a ballot marlcing <br />device that is accessible to persons with disabilities <br />The Secretary of State certified the A�tomark ballot marlcing device for use in this state and the <br />Ramsey County auditor authorized the use of the Automark in all elections in Ramsey County. <br />Each City is required to authorize the use of the Autorriark ballot marlcing device for elections <br />ItcJ�i in the City, in ccordanee with applicable state and federal laws. Cities are also required to <br />provide information and demonstrations on the use of the A�tort�ark ballot marlcing device prior <br />to the 2006 primary. <br />Financial Irn pact <br />Congress allocated money to the states to purchase ballot marlcing devices. The Automarlcs will <br />be covered same manner provided for voting systems in the j oint powers agreement between the <br />City and the County adopted by the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners on April 24,2001. <br />Citv Council reauested <br />Adoption of Resolution approving use of Au�omark ballot marlcing device. <br />
