EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 19th day of June, 2006, <br />at 6;Q0 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent:. <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION xxxx <br />Adoption of the .A��tomarl� Ballot Marking Device <br />WHEREAS, Con�ress enacted the Hel� America Vote Act in 2002 to ensure that the <br />voting method used in every polling P I;s�� includes a ballot marking device that is <br />accessible for individuals with disabilities and provides them the ability to vote privately <br />and independently; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey CountyBoard of Commissionersadoptedthe local equipment <br />plan developed by cities and school districts in the County to acquire and operate a ballot <br />marking device that is accessible to persons with disabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County received a state grant in the amount of $ I,2S6,572 to <br />acquire and operate such a ballot marking device for disabled voters; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota secretary of state has certified the Automar�C ballot marking <br />device for use in this state; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County auditar has authorized the use of the Autornark ballot <br />marking device in all elections in Ramsey County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED that the City of Roseville authorizes the use of the Autarnark ballot marking <br />device for all elections held in the City, in accordance with applicable state and federal <br />laws; and be it further <br />RESOLVED that the operation and maintenance of the A�tomarlc ballot marking device <br />be conducted in the same manner provided for voting systems in the j oint powers <br />
