Department Approval: <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 6/19/06 <br />Item#: 4.� <br />Manager Approved: Agenda Section: <br />Dona Bacon.----� Consent <br />Item: Council Adoption of PTO ordinance and ordinance summary <br />����� <br />As you will recall on March 27`h, 2006 Council approved a Paid Time Off plan to replace <br />individual vacation and sicic leave plans with a combined single benefit program. With the <br />adoption of this plan, the City seelcs to attract and retain its employees by providing equity, <br />consistency, flexibility, personal responsibility, and the recognition of years of service through <br />the Paid Time Off program. <br />Employees accrue benefits based on length of service with the City. This means employees <br />receive the same amount of paid time off regardless of personal or family situations <br />The ordinance malces the conforming changes in the Cities code. <br />Council Action Requested: <br />Respectfully request a motion to adopt the ordinance and ordinance summary. <br />
