Under the approved option City Council named Eldona Bacon as the project lead <br />and established a budget of approxirrkately $12,000 to work with. <br />During the August 28�h meeting Council approved the advertising brochure to be utilized as well as a <br />general timeline for the process. In meeting with this tirneline staff as pasted the position and advertisec� <br />with t�e League ofMN Cities, Star & Tribune, govjobs.com, and ICMA. The cost for this advertising has <br />been approximately $1,525. <br />Eight external panelists and eight internal panelists felt to be rnost involved in the community and those <br />who could bring pertinent knowledge a�d background to the selectian process have been cnnfirmed. <br />These paneiists wil� conduct the first rocznd of interviews on November 17, 2006. <br />The City Manager application deadline is October 2, 2006. At this tizne all applications received will be <br />reviewed by the executive search firm that is awarded the bid for services by the City. <br />Recommendatian �'ar Award af Executive Search Firm Services: <br />A request far proposal specific to services for the initial selection of a short list of 5-7 candidates was sent <br />out to five firms used in the metro area by other Cities. Four firms responded. The following table <br />suminarizes key factors of each pz-oposal: <br />
