Eureka 1Zecyclin� has 6c:en working with Tetra Pak, a manufacturer of papea•-basecE container packaging, and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to develop a recycling system to capture these niaterials through its curbsi��l� recycling prngz-aax�. Eureka Recycling will accept these materials together with bottles and cans. Expected increase in recycling tons Currently over 15% of the households in the country have recycling of these materials available to them, but this will be the #ii-st time that this service has been offered in Minnesota. Using the industry's estimates of generation rates of these materials, it is estizr�ated C1zaC residents in 1�os�vill� cui�ently throw away 65 tons a year. Eureka iZecycling and the state of Minnesota laope to capture these recyclable materials �•}' adding it to the collection program. The cities of Saint �'aul, Maplewood and Lauderdale have alre;ady decided to add this material to thcir r,�irbsidc recyclingpro�rams. Increase in service fee Based on oLtr past experience with adding rt�atecials to cttrbsicle programs, the cost associated with collecting this material r�asl� require an additional $�.05 per household T'r n�onth. Eurcka It�:cyclin� will provide a revenue shar4 for this material in thc satr�e ��aaz�ner that we do for all materials that we collect in the program.
