What contaminants have been identified at the site?
Chlorinated Volatile Oranic Compounds (cVOCs) - tetrachloroethene (PCE),
trichloroethene (TC, and cis-l.2-dichloroethene (cis-DCE). PCE is the contaminant of
coreern ("COC") at the site.
17. To qualify for cleanup funding, you must attach a copy of the approved RAP and final
approval of your Response Action Plan from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
See Attachment 9(Resnonse Action Plan) and Attachment 10 (M'CA apprpvai).
18. Summary of Contamination Information:
A. Provide a concise description of the identified contaminationand proposed RAP. The
description should include the occurrence of the contamination (i.e., are there distinct
areas of contaminationor is contamination widely disseminated across the site? Is the
contaminationat the surface or at depth?).
PCE is nresent in shallow perched roundwater, soil. and soil vabors at the site. The
hihest concentration of PCE is under the floor slab of the first warehouse addition.
Unsaturated soil beneath the buildin near the source area contains cVOCs at
concentrations exceeding Soil Leaching Values (SLVs), but not Tier I Soil Reference Values
fSRVsI. The source of the erched groundwater contamination is the soils located beneath
the first warehouse addition. The PCE tlune oriinates from under the first warehouse
addition on the western nortion of the nronertv and flows in shallow nerched roundwater
beneath the main buitdin to the eastlnortheast. The shallow erched water table occurs at
annroximatelv 5-10 feet below round surface (bs. An extensive clav unit is nresent at a
denth of annroximatelv 15 feet b that serves to nerch the shallow routdvvater svstem
and prevent the PCE from miratin to the deeper reional roundwater svstem.
