City Council Regular Meeting-12/04/06
DRAFT Minutes - Page 5
tonight's Agenda.
City Attorney Scott Anderson provided a Bench Handout,
representing an email dated November 30, 2006 regarding
Settlement Offers on Liquor Violations. Mr. Anderson advised
that his office had just received the information after the packets
had been distributed; and sought City Council direction at
tonight's meeting, given the coming hearings scheduled for the
second week of December.
Mayor Klausing added this item as Agenda Item 8.b.
Councilmember Ihlan requested removal of Consent Item 3.f
entitled, "Approve Renewal of 2007 Janitorial Services Contract
for City Facilities," for discussion purposes.
Councilmember Ihlan questioned why the proposed Subdivision
Moratorium was not included on tonight's agenda, as directed in
the November 20, 2006 City Council Study Session minutes, page
10; with City Attorney Anderson directed to provide proposed
language for consideration, and potential action at the Council's
December 18,2006 meeting.
ommuniy Development Director John Stark advised that, when
staff was preparing the meeting notices, it had been discovered
that appropriate published meeting notice deadlines could not be
met for tonight's meeting, as due to the Truth in Taxation Hearing
requirements, tonight's meeting was being held one week earlier
than normal meeting schedules.
Councilmember lhlan questioned why draft language was not
presented tonight for Council review prior to December 18, 2006
possible action.
City Attorney Anderson advised that he would take responsibility
for the information not being included in the packet; based on
assumptions he'd made after talking to staff regarding the notice
timeline, that the information wouldn't be needed until December
18, 2006. Mr. Anderson apologized to Councilmember Ihlan for
the delay in preparing the draft language.
