All applicants are encouraged to form working partnerships with one or more entities to achieve the <br />objective(s) stated in their proposal. The proposals submitted by these partnerships must provide <br />evidence of committed leveraged funds and/or resources other than the funds offered 'm the Single <br />Family RFP. <br />Single Family RFP funds can be used in conjunction with other local, state, federal and MHFA <br />resources. <br />ECONOMICVITAL1TYaND HOUSING INITI�I�VE(EVHI): <br />At its November 20, 2003 Board meeting, MIIFA obtained a waiver to eliminate the requirement to <br />utilize EVHI guidelines as a threshold selection requirement when reviewing proposals and making <br />funding recommendations. MHFA is in the process of revising the rules far the Economic <br />Development and Housing Challenge Program under the Community Revitalization Fund in regard to <br />this. <br />F�R SEVEN-COUNTY TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA PROPOSALS ONL,Y: <br />In the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area, MHFA, Metropolitan Council, Minneapolis Public <br />Housing Authority, and the Family Housing Fund convened the Metropolitan Housing <br />Implementation Group (MHIG). These organizations developed guidelines to ensure effective <br />targeting of funds in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The guidelines are in effect and are posted on <br />MHFA's website at: www.mhfa.state.mn.uslhomes/homes administrators.htm. These guidelines <br />remain a threshold requirement under the Single Family RFP. <br />Proposals must be consistent with the partner's mission statement or they will not be considered for <br />funding by the applicable partner. <br />• Family Housing Fund's Mission Statement: <br />The mission of the Family Housing Fund is to preserve and expand quality affordable housing for <br />families with low and moderate incomes in the seven-county metropolitan area of Minneapolis <br />and Saint Paul. <br />■ Greater Minnesota Housing Fund's Mission Statement (GMHF): <br />The mission of the GMHF is to support the creation of affordable housing for working families in <br />areas of economic vitality throughout Greater Minnesota. <br />■ Metropolitan Council's Mission Statement: <br />The mission of the Metropolitan Council is to develop, in cooperation with local communities, a <br />comprehensive regional planning framework, focusing on transportation, wastewater, parks and <br />aviation systems that guide the efficient growth of the metropolitan area. The Council operates <br />transit and wastewater services and administers housing and other grant programs. <br />. Minnesota Department of Corrections Mission Statement (MNDOC): <br />The mission of the Institution Community Work Crew program is to provide training and <br />educational programming for inmates through the construction of affordable housing. <br />. Minnesota Housing Finance Agency's Mission Statement (MHFA): <br />MHFA is committed to meeting Minnesotans' needs for decent, safe, affordable homes and <br />stronger communities. <br />
