RpSEVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING PROCEDURES AND RULES
ANUARY ,2004
1. Council Meetings and Meeting Schedule.
a. On or about the first Council meeting of the year,
the City Council will adopt a meeting schedule of
dates and times for that year. Meeting dates and
times may change by majority vote of the Council.
b. Generally, the City Council will meet in formal
business sessions on the second and fourth Mon-
days of each month, and the Council will meet in an
informal study session format on the third Monday
of each month.
i. Business sessions of the City Council will em-
phasize Council action on specific land use
cases, city contracts, business licenses, ordi-
nances and similar items of formal city busi-
ness that require Council action.
ii. Study sessions of the City Council will empha-
size the informal exchange of information
about city issues. This is an opportunity for
the Council to focus on a few city issues to
study in a less formal setting. Such study of
city issues may create a foundation for Council
action at a subsequent Council business meet-
ing, or the Council may give guidance at the
study session itself.
c. All meetings of the City Council — whether business
or study sessions — constitute public meetings
where the public is welcome to attend and provide
input, where in addition to providing all required le--
gal notices the City will advertise the meeting dates s
