BOX 128
SHAFER, MN 55074
ATTN: SCOTT SPISAK
AET` JOB NO: 20-04834 DATE: DECEMBER 14,2004
INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of noise monitoring wark performed during operation of rock
crushing equipment located in Rosemount, Minnesota. The scope of our work was limited to
monitoring noise levels at 50' intervals from the equipment. Our work was authorizedby Mr. Scott
Spisak of 5hafr Contracting on November 30,2004.
RESULTS
The monitoring wark was performed on December 2,2004. The gravel pit had approximately40'
side walls. Monitoring was performed at 5' above the gravel pit floor on December 2, 2004.
— Measurements were taken from the loudest side of the rock crusher and generator. The monitoring
— path was down wind from the noise and the wind speeds ranged &om 5 to 15 mph. The monitoring
interval was 10 minutes in each location. Upon completion of the monitoring, the data from the
sound meter was downloaded into a computer for analysis and compilation. Specifically, the L(10}
and L(50} values were programmedto be calculated.
Lf 10 - The sound level which is exceeded ten percent of the time for a survey.
(,5 D - The sound level which is exceeded fifty percent of the time for a survey
The results of noise monitoring at the locationsproximateto the rock crusher are listed as follows:
Distance From Source I.1.,1 L(50) AVERA(CE SOUND LEVEL
50' 87.0 db 86.5 db 86.5 db
100' 85.0 db 84.0 db 84.0 db
150' 79.5 db 79.0 db 79.0 db
200' 77.0 db 76.0 db 76.0 db
250' 76.5 db 74.5 db 74.5 db
300' 75.0 db 73.o db 73.0 db
Reference should be made to the attached tabulation page for specific recording information.
This document shall not be reproduced, except in tul€, without mit#en approval ol American Engineering Testing.
