This position involves heavy community contact in person, on <br />the phone and across the internet. The Customer Service Representative needs to be in touch with <br />all aspects of the department in order to knowledgeably provide information or direct the inquiry to <br />the applicable departmental unit. <br />Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <br />1. Answers questions from the public regarding classes, registration, fees, facilities, and related <br />issues in person or over the phone. Works to resolve citizen complaints when necessary. Is <br />the front line service to the community and guests. <br />2. Processes all money collected from programs and facility rental and usage, daily. Manages <br />cash register, processes refunds, compiles daily deposits, and completes daily financial <br />reports. <br />3. Performs data entry for all class information. Sets up registration procedures and registers <br />participants for activities, lessons. Works with online data systems. Coordinates facility or <br />ice time schedules. Issues permits for park shelter rentals, ice rink rentals, field rentals, and <br />sand volleyball rentals. Reserves and schedules yearly garden plots. <br />4. Processes correspondence and reports. Organizes files and coordinates mailings. <br />5. Other duties as apparent or assigned <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />• Minimum j ob requirements are proof reading, communication, math and problem solving <br />skills equivalent to High School or GED and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent. <br />• Excellent customer service skills. Experience dealing with the public. <br />. Extensive experience with word processing software. Word processing speed of 55 wpm. <br />. Must have the ability to work under pressure and multi task either independently or as part of <br />a team. <br />Physical Demands & Workin� Conditions: <br />Most work is in a normal office environment. Limited lifting of twenty pounds or less is required up <br />to 15°/o of the time.
