Date: 02/28/OS <br />Item: S.b <br />Proclamation of <br />Women's History Month <br />Roseville Proclamation <br />Women's History Month <br />March 2005 <br />Whereas: the City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring the contributions <br />of all members of our community; and <br />Whereas: Women's History Week was established in 1978 to promote women's historical __ <br />achievements; and <br />Whereas: In 1980 the Joint Congressional Resolution declared the week of March 8 as <br />National Women's I-Iistory Week, and in 1987 Congress expanded the celebration of women's <br />contributions to the entire �ontl� of March; and <br />Whereas: This movement continues to grow to accurately recognize and celebrate women's <br />contributions to the world; and <br />Whereas: The 2005 National Women's History Month theme "Women Change Ar��e��ca" <br />honors and recognizes the role of American women in transforming culture, history and politics <br />as leaders, writers, scientists, educators, politicians, artists, historians and informed citizens; and <br />Whereas: "Women Change America" also celebrates the myriad ways in which the spirit, <br />courage, and contributions of American women have added to the vitality, richness, and diversity <br />of American life; and <br />Whereas: the Roseville Human Rights Commission celebrates the outstanding contributions <br />that women have made to the City of Roseville. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare March 2005 to be <br />Women's History Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S,A <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this 28th day of February 2005. <br />Mayor Craig D.
