Another <br />reason I have decided to present this solution is the city only received �ne proposal back from an engineering <br />firm, which may not be in the best financial interests of the city. <br />Our company views this project as a textbook recommissioning project from beginning to end and not necessarily <br />a"fully redesigned" project. A recommissioning project entails the same front end investigation, analysis, and <br />pre-design services as are outlined by Stevens Eng.; however, addresses the failures of the system specifically, <br />including some design work for maintaining the high integrity of the project remediation. <br />Our company, BEM Corporation, utilizes funds set aside from the Xcel Energy Recommissioning Rebates for <br />these types of recommissioning projects, which allows the city the potential to take advantage of established grant <br />money to pay for up to 50% of the professional services or in this case approximately $14,000. This means the <br />city of Roseville would only be responsible for approximately $14,000 of the $28,000 contract; however, would <br />reap the recommissioning and engineering benefits of a$28,000 proposal! Nothing else changes with respect to <br />the scope of work for the engineering analysis and engineering design services, only the city gets a 50% discount <br />on these services. In addition, once the chiller system is recommissioned and repaired, the city will continue to <br />benefit financially from higher energy effeciency and potential control strategies for effecient operation of the <br />system providing a financial payback of 5-10 years. <br />If the city is interested in accomplishing the goals of repairing the chiller system and at the same time saving <br />approximately $10,000 from the City Building Replacement Fund, we would be interested in meeting with the city <br />to discuss these options. <br />Thank you for your consideration <br />Slade K.
