City Council Regular Meeting — 03/14/05 <br />Draft Minutes - Page 20 <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn assured the City Council that his personal <br />reputation was on the line, and that the meeting was legitimate, <br />with the tape being "time coded." <br />Mayor Klausing requested that the public not provide input <br />during Council discussion unless recognized by the Chair. <br />Further discussion ensued related to control of the government <br />cable access channel. <br />Ihlan moved a friendly amendment, Schroeder seconded, to <br />direct City Manager Beets to review the video tape prior to <br />public playback to ensure it was a complete, and unedited, <br />version of the meeting in its entirety. <br />Roll Call (Friendly Amendment) <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Ihlan, Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Roll Call (Original Motion) <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Ihlan and Maschka. <br />Nays: Klausing. <br />10. Discuss and Give Staff Direction regarding the Process for <br />Interviewing Applicants for Citizen Advisory Commissions <br />Mayor Klausing, given the receipt of 28 applications for ten <br />vacancies on citizen advisory commissions, questioned whether <br />the City Council wished to reduce the applicant pool prior to <br />interviews and appointment. <br />Councilmember Schroeder questioned what criteria would be <br />used to reduce the pool. <br />In the Request for Council Action dated March 14, 2005, City <br />Manager Beets noted that he had outlined several options the <br />Council could consider for ranking purposes, individually and as <br />a composite. <br />Mayor Klausing noted the strength of the applicant pool. <br />Discussion ensued related to the selection process; with <br />Councilmember Schroeder suggesting use of a ranking matrix <br />Citizen Advisory <br />Commissions <br />Interviews <br />
