City Council Regular Meeting — 04/11/OS <br />DRAFT Minutes ' Page 7 <br />specifically noted the "adoption" of the park by residents at <br />the corner of Lindy and Burke, Tom and Virginia Turba, <br />and their continual upkeep of the park. <br />Mr. Gulbranson further noted the world-wide recognition <br />of the John Rose OVAL, and opined that it would be <br />shortsighted of the City Council not to continue its <br />operation and encouraged that all avenues and resources be <br />identified. <br />Mr. Gulbranson further opined, in his capacity as a member <br />of the Ramsey County Charter Commission, the <br />accomplishments and overall City operation by City <br />Manager Beets; noting the efficiencies of the various <br />departments under his management. In closing, Mr. <br />Gulbranson reminded the City Council of their appearance <br />and demeanor on cable television and encouraged good <br />decorum and brief summation of points to be made, <br />allowing citizens and Councilmembers to continue to be <br />proud of their community. <br />J. Unidentified Speaker <br />The speaker spoke to the wonderful services provided at <br />the Fairview Community Center and encouraged the City <br />Council to be aware of its use and value to the community. <br />Mayor Klausing reminded the speaker that the facility was <br />owned by the School District, but that the City Council <br />would be alert to future plans for the facility. <br />Mayor Klausing thanked citizens for their public comments and <br />observations and encouraged them to remain for the business <br />portion of tonight's meeting, which was called to order by Mayor <br />Klausing at 7:30 p.m. <br />1.
