City Council Regular Meeting — 04/11/OS DRAFT Minutes - Page 14 Councilmember Kough highlighted the hardships created in eliminating bus service to senior apartment buildings along Snelling Avenue and other senior apartment complexes using transit services in the community. Councilmember Kough advised that he had drafted a letter of support for tonight's proposed Council action and resolution, and had provided that letter to the Senior Federation. Councilmember Ihlan questioned, with the expansion of the proposed resolution to be sent to the Governor and State Legislators, how the resolution would be conveyed to the appropriate parties. Mayor Klausing advised that staff would be directed to provide the resolution to the appropriate parties. City Manager Beets concurred that, unless otherwise directed, staff would copy the resolution to Governor Pawlenty; Metropolitan Council Chairperson; Senator Marty and Representatives Scalze and Greiling. Councilmember Schroeder requested that the proposed motion include specific directive as to who was to receive the resolution, including those identified above, as well as Senator Murphy, Head of the Senate Transportation Commit�ee and the House Transportation Chair. Klausing moved, Schroeder seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10292 entitled, "A Resolution Opposing Elimination of Bus Routes in Roseville;" with staff directed to provide copies of the resolution as appropriate and as identified. Roll Call Ayes: Ihlan, Maschka, Schroeder, Kough and Klausing. Nays: None. 6. Transit Shelter Granting Ordinance Public Works Director Duane Schwartz reviewed the background of tonight's request, negotiations and action to-date on this item; noting Exhibit C and the 27 potential locations for shelters.
