Mr. Va�derwall concluded by <br />asking the City Council to consider a balance in making the <br />community more kid and family-friendly to thus attract <br />more young families to Roseville. <br />B. Barb Obeda, 2910 N Asbury <br />Ms. Obeda charged the City Council with pursuing repair <br />of the John Rose OVAL for current and future children and <br />families as a community asset for families; opining that the <br />OVAL was one of the best things Roseville ever did; <br />having observed the enthusiasm of parents, teachers and <br />coaches; and pleaded with the City Council to not consider <br />elimination of the nationally-renowned OVAL. <br />Ms. Obeda further opined that the new SuperTarge� store <br />was too large and would confound and hinder traffic and <br />safety issues along Highway 36, Snelling Avenue and <br />County Road B. <br />Ms. Obeda expressed her disappointment in the City <br />Council considering another movie theater in the Rosedale <br />Center, questioning how other area theaters at �arMar and <br />the Crossroads would survive the competition, with <br />additional traffic further complicating an already busy area <br />on County Road B-2 and Snelling Avenue. <br />Mayor Klausing and Councilmember Schroeder clarified <br />that the final approval had not come before the City <br />Council, only a Concept Plan to-date. <br />Ms. Obeda concluded with her opposition, in addition to <br />the Twin Lakes redevelopment and "big box" issues, to the <br />high-rise buildings proposed by Presbyterian Homes at the <br />�a�line Shopping Center site; asking that the City Council <br />ensure that the buildings were not so tall that they blocked <br />out the natural views. <br />C.
