Description of Proposed A�reeme�►ti: <br />The proposed agreement with the LELS includes the following [NOTE: with the <br />exception of the 2005 COLA, these are the same terms and conditions that were <br />presented and accepted by the Council in January]: <br />l. The contract term to be for the one year from Ul/OS — 12/31/O5. <br />2. Wages will increase 2°/o effective Ul/OS and an additional 1% effective 711/OS <br />for 2005. consistent with the Council's direction. <br />3. The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of five hundred twenty <br />dollars and sixty eight cents (520.68) per month per employee for Calendar <br />2003, or the same amount which it contributes for all other City employees, <br />whichever amount is greater. <br />➢ Note: 2005 City Contributions of $284=opt out, $411=Singles, <br />$525-5ingle + 1, $735=Families. <br />Financial Implications <br />To provide the approved across the board wage increase to all City staff (equal treatment <br />for all) of an additional 1°/o effective 7/1/OS will cost an additional $45,000 citywide in <br />2005. There are ample funds available in the contingency budget to cover this. The <br />budgeted personal services funds in the 2005 would cover the cost of the rest of the <br />proposed LELS collective bargaining agreement for 2005. <br />Council Action Requested <br />Motion to approve the proposed terms and conditions for the 2005 collective bargaining <br />agreement with the LELS, and to direct the City staff to prepare the necessary documents <br />for execution, subject to City Attorney approval as to legal fonn. <br />� <br />
