Mr. Brokke not�d that, as the Task Farce process <br />continued, it became evident of ihe amount required to <br />keep the facility upgraded and operational for the long- <br />term. Mr. Baroklce expressed his personal appr�ciation to <br />ev�ryone for their work to-date and far their generosity; <br />noting that the work was just beginning, and he was <br />looking �orward to pursuing ma�c�ing funds for an <br />endowment program; and recognized those influeniial <br />within the community, staff and advisory com�nissions and <br />user garoups who had participated so far, and laoked <br />forward to the new roles in working wit�a th� 4val <br />Advisory Group. <br />Councilmember Ihlan expressed her persanal appreciation <br />to those involved in ensuring the sustainabilitiy of �he Ova1, <br />and looked forward to new ideas being g�nerated ta keep <br />this facili�y as a regional asset. <br />Mayor Klausing concurred with Councilmember Ihlan; <br />encouraging the momentum of the Task Force <br />recommendations relaied ta structural issues; operational <br />efficiencies; and additional funding sources. <br />Councilmember Schroed�r recognized the work of the Task <br />Force in going beyond the call of duty and the excellence <br />of their report; but from his engineering outlook, realized <br />that �here was additional work to be accompli shed and he <br />didn't want to lase the expertise of those on the Task Force. <br />Discussion ensued as to how best to add�ress the fnancial <br />projections; corporate sponsorship; busine�s mod�ls <br />addressed in th� repor-�; and �he AdviSOry Group and F�F <br />ability to build on the Task Force recommendations; and <br />pursuit of some items through the upcoming 2006 budget <br />process and individual depa�ment budgets. <br />Councilmember Schraeder noted that, with staff clarifying <br />that they would be returning to the City Counci� to follow <br />through on fuiure actions, he had no probl�m accepting tlae <br />
