They are listed below. <br />*'.• Enforcing codes (nuisances, animals, speed- <br />ers, housing maintenance, etc.) <br />.• Cleaning up and updating Roseville <br />*:• Increases in Northwestern College rental <br />properties <br />� Commercial and retail development <br />� Having a yearly meeting like this <br />What were the housing-related con- <br />cerns that were raised? <br />Through small and large group discussions, <br />participants identified several concerns. These <br />concerns have been loosely categorized and are <br />reported here. (Some concerns were identified <br />by more than one small group.) <br />Housing Maintenance and Uv�ades <br />� Housing stock is aging. <br />.• Some elderly people are not able to maintain <br />their homes due to financial and health rea- <br />sons. <br />.* When some elderly people want to put their <br />houses on the market, deferred maintenance <br />is a problem. <br />:` General maintenance/cleaa�-up is needed <br />citywide—poor public image. <br />Rental Pro�ertv—Calleges <br />� Colleges (Northwesternand Bethel) are buy- <br />ing up single-tamily homes in blocks dose <br />to their campuses and converting to rental, <br />which shifts the balance � household types <br />and ownership in the neighborhood. Col- <br />lege rental property is also increasing along <br />Snelling Avenue. <br />•. These <br />issues are summarized below. <br />Transportation <br />r JosephineRoadhas ahighpercentage of <br />commuters who drive too fast for road con- <br />ditions. Commuters use this road because <br />Counry Road C2 is not fully connected be- <br />tween Lexington and Harnline Avenues. <br />� Snelling and I-�amline is a dangerous inter- <br />section. Traffic backs up on Lydia. The in- <br />tersection needs traffic management im- <br />provement of some type. <br />.• The intersection at Terrace and Pascal needs <br />a traffic light. <br />.- Enforcement of speed limits is needed, espe- <br />cially on residential streets. <br />� There is a need for more public transit and <br />retention of the Circulator. <br />= A sign is needed at Fai�view and Maple <br />Lane to direct semi-trucks to Snelling Ave- <br />nue. <br />
