� �� ,� • •'�s �ousing and Redevelopment Authority Background Information HRA Community Dialogues on Housing North West Area Dialogue March 29,2005 Sandcastle Park Warming House The Roseville Housing and RedevelopmentAutharity (HRA)wants to better understand community concerns about housing issues. To achieve this goal, the HRA, with support of the City Council, is holding a series of five neighbarhood znee�ings and two meetings with businesses and orga ations. These dialogues are being facilitated by the Center for Policy, Plaruling, and Performance. There will be a report to the City Council, which will include what was learned from listening to the community and recommendations about ways to address housing issues now and in the future. In an effortto share infarmation as the process unfolds, a summary of each dialogue is being made available to the public. Summaries will be available at neighborhood dialogues, on the HRA web site, and upon request to the City. Thirteen (13) north west area residents, three (3) members � the HRA attended the dialogue, and one (�} commissionereach from the Parks and Recrea- tion and Planning Commissions. One staff member from the HRA and City's Community DevelopmentDepartmentalso was pre- sent. She shared information and responded to ques- tions. All thirteen (13)of the neighborhood partici- pants live in the north west area. A majority of these participants: v have lived in �oseville and thei� neighborhood for over 10 years, the median length cf residency is 22 years; #r live in a single-familyhouse; �✓ own their homes; and •;. plan to be living in the same home three years from now, although three (3)persons were un- decided and two (2) persons plan to be living somewhere in a different home. Twelve (12) of the 13 area participants agreed that they had an opportunity to voice their thoughts dur- ing t�le dialogue and that the dialogue was informa- tive. Five (5) area participants indicated interest in having similar dialogues on other citywide topics. No one topic was mentioned more than once.
