City Council Regular Meeting — 08/08/OS <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 28 <br />rate of $14lhour and resting rate of $101hour and on-duty shift at <br />$18 and $14/hour respectively for working or resting times. <br />Proposals for Officer pay was: Lieutenant, ���. ���'������'; <br />Captain, $15; District Chief, $15.50; and Deputy Chief, <br />$ I �Ihour. <br />Chief Gasaway reviewed proposed capital item expenditures at <br />$84,600, which included sealing exterior brick at Station 3 <br />(routine maintenance following mold remediation); pager <br />replacements; firefighter gear replacement; fire hose <br />replacement; defibrillator replacement; AV equipment <br />replacement; rescue equipment; Fire Marshal vehicle <br />replacement. <br />Discussion among Councilmembers and Fire Department <br />representatives included those capital items that were scheduled <br />and which were depreciated; estimated cost of the projector <br />($1,700); no depreciation on turnout gear; hose and rope testing <br />specifications and replacement requirements; annual pump <br />testing on engines; comparison of existing compensation <br />categories with those proposed; and criteria and determination <br />of working rates and times by shift supervisors. <br />Councilmember Maschka requested additional comparison <br />figures for on-duty firefighters from Finance Director Miller at a <br />future date. <br />Further discussion included the Advance Technical Rescue <br />Team; confined space entry issues addressed by the department <br />as part of OSHA requirements; logs for equipment usage and <br />wear; EMS training and Allina contracts; certification of <br />E1V1T's; on-site and on-duty training; and number of department <br />vehicles, as well as those private vehicles equipped for <br />emergency use; and salary/benef ts of proposed Training <br />Supervisor. <br />! Councilmember Schroeder requested updated figures on actual <br />costs to the City for the proposed Training Supervisor during the <br />years 2006 — 2011. <br />Additional discussion included duties of the Training Supervisor <br />
