City Council Regular Meeting — 09/12/OS <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 11 <br />2661 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br />Mr. Bro1�1�e noted that matching funds would only be available <br />through the end of December. <br />There was no public comment related to this item. <br />Schroeder moved, Kough seconded, authorizing officially <br />renaming the John Rose Minnesota OVAL to the Guidant John <br />Rose Minnesota OVAL. <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Guidant Corporation; Councilmember <br />Maschka for his initial contacts and work creating the <br />Endowment Fund and Foundation; staff and members of the <br />Task Force for their work. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder; Ihlan; Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Additional discussion included anticipated publicity for the name <br />change; potential monies for signage changes; and committee <br />activities for re-opening day activities and events. <br />Mr. Brol�l�e expressed his personal appreciation to those <br />involved, including Guidant employees who use the facility on a <br />regular basis; and the potential for involving more corporate <br />sponsors to encourage physical activities and potential funds <br />available for City infrastructure facilities and activities that <br />encourage those physical activities. <br />8. Consider Reconfiguration of Commercial Properties at <br />Northeast Corner of Snelling Avenue and County Road B <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz provided an aerial <br />display of the recently completed frontage road as part of the <br />Target Store reconstruction project; and background and <br />discussions related to the future of a portion of the old frontage <br />road. Mr. Schwartz noted that the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation (MnDOT) was planning a safety improvement <br />project for the intersection of County Road B and Snelling <br />Avenue in 2007, by adding an additional northbound lane on <br />Resolution 10329 <br />Commercial <br />Properties at <br />Northeast Corner <br />of Snelling Avenue <br />and County Road B <br />
