DATE: 9/26/OS <br />ITEM NO: 5.b <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Recognitions <br />Item Description: Recognition of the Anchor Bank of Arden Hills for their <br />generous sponsorship of the 2005 July 4t'' Firewarks Display <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Roseville Parks and Recreation Department is extremely fortunate to have <br />numerous sponsors throughout the year to assist in the provision of programs, services <br />and facilities for our community. <br />The total cost of the popular 2005 July �4i fireworks display was $10,500. $7,500 was <br />planned in the Parks and Recreation budget and $3,000 was targeted as donation or <br />sponsorship supported. <br />In 2004, Anchor Bank of Arden Hills approached the Parks and Recreation Department <br />about opportunities to sponsor Parks and Recreation activities in the community. After <br />several discussions about varying opportunities Anchor Bank of Arden Hills <br />enthusiastically agreed to a$7,000 sponsorship for the July �3', 2004 fireworks display. <br />This positive partnership was reestablished for the 2005 July �`'' fireworks display. <br />Contributions like this greatly enhance the quality of life in Roseville and for that we truly <br />appreciate the involvement of Anchor Bank of Arden Hills in Roseville Parks and <br />Recreation. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The proposed policy is consistent with the approved budget goals that the department <br />works to leverage outside funding sources for the support of the operations of <br />departmental activities. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br />The contribution positively affects the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation budget by <br />obtaining additional funding. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the significant financial contribution staff recommends that the City Council <br />recognize the Anchor Bank of Arden Hills for their significant sponsorship of the July 4, <br />2005 fireworks display. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Based on the significant financial contribution, staff recommends the City Council <br />recognize Anchor Bank of Arden Hills for their sponsorship of the July 4, 2005 fireworks. <br />
