Consider a Process to fill a Vacancy on the Public Works, <br />Environment and Transportation Commission (Continued <br />from 9/12/05 Council Meeting) <br />Mayor Klausing sought Council consensus on the options <br />provided by City Manager Beets related to the vacancy on the <br />Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission <br />(PWET). <br />Councilmember Schroeder opined that the incoming City <br />Council should take action on the vacancy; and the PWET could <br />operate with four Commissioners until that time. <br />Councilmember Schroeder reiterated his concerns with potential <br />conflict of interest issues with Mr. Neprash serving on an <br />advisory committee to the City Council, while also serving <br />occasionally as a contracted consultant for the City. <br />City Manager Beets noted that Mr. Neprash served as an <br />engineer for the firm of Bonestroo, et al, a f�n sometimes used <br />for consultation purposes by the City. <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted Mr. Neprash's expertise with <br />NPDES and storm water issues; often providing services through <br />the League of Minnesota Cities. <br />Councilmember lhlan expressed her discomfort in discussing <br />someone's potential conflict of interest without that person in <br />attendance; and the Iacl� of research information available. <br />Councilmember Ihlan opined her support for the next-highest <br />vote getter in the Council ranking for appointment to serve at this <br />time on the PWET. <br />Process to fill a <br />Vacancy <br />PWET Commission <br />(Continued from <br />9/12/05 Council <br />Meeting) <br />
