Standard came back with a renewal at an astonishing 45% <br />increase. <br />After all bids were received and the negotiations were completed the City achieved a 4.5 % <br />decrease in long-term disability amounting to a$1600 savings to go into a 2 year contract with <br />Assurant. <br />Standard came back with the best negotiated rates on life insurance extending the contract for <br />another 2 years. There is an increase in the basic life amounting to a$3,400 increase in cost to <br />the City. However, the voluntary lines will remain constant with no change in the cost. <br />No change in coverage was made to either plan. <br />� <br />
