This report deals with the Police Sergeant's unit. There are 8 city employees in the Teamster's bargainingunit. They are comprised of supervisory licensed officer's. Although city employee wages are provided in five different plans, the City maintains a policy of internal and external parity for all employees. According to this philosophy, comparable cost of living increases and benefits are consistentlyproposed for these five employee groups. In addition, the City benchmarlcs itself with comparable municipalities. According to comparable Stan�on V municipalities, the wage increase for this union group was approximately 3% for 2005. Based upon this comparable data as well as the COLA provided by Council for all other city employee groups, sta� i pra�p�scs rh� c 2005 compensation adjustment for this group that the Council approved for city � employees in general – a phased-in 3%, with 2% effective January 1,2005 and another 1% effective July 1, 2005 -- as well as the following terms for the contract. Descrintion of Pronosed A�reement The proposed three year agreement includes the following: 1. Contract Terna: • The contract term to be for three years from 1/1/OS –12131107. 2. Wages: • Wages will increase 2% effective 111105 and an additional l% effective 711105 for 2005, consistentwith the Council's direction. 1/1/06 & 111107 increase all Teamster union classifications by whatever the final average COLA ends up being after settlement for the Police Sergeants groups within the 10 Stantc�n 5 group metro area Cities that are the 5 just larger in population size and those 5 just
