Mayor Klausing spoke in favor of the motion, based on the marketing and innovations, and revenue sharing, proposed by Eureka and their excellent reputation of other communities using their services. Mayor Klausing respectfully acknowledged that the future may be in single sort, after improved technologies were achieved. Councilmember Schroeder, acknowledging lack of consensus for single stream, requested that the Council ensure that all revenue would be returned to residents to reduce their recycling rates. Councilmember Kough spoke in support of the motion, based on a better quality of collected material through dual sort; and encouraged that the residents receive the revenue sharing. Councilmember Maschka opined his conflicted decision-making related to this matter; but based on his review with those currently using the services of Eureka, the broken glass and residual concerns addressed, and the firm's passion for environmental issues, spoke in support of the motion. Councilmember Maschka concurred that single sort may be the best choice of the future, but needed improvement. Roll Call Ayes: Ihlan; Maschka; Kough and Klausing. Nays: Schroeder. I�. Consider Adding Councilmember Additions to Agenda to the Format of the Work Session Agenda Councilmember Kough requested extending the time frame for Councilmembers to bring items up at Council meetings, specifically Study Sessions, after the Wednesday deadline, to provide discussion of additional issues. Mayor Klausing expressed his concern that such an extension would extend meetings and bring items up for discussion without sufficient time for review, research and consideration.
