Recognize - Acknowledge the identified state c� affairs and take actions ar <br />implement policies to preserve, or change them. <br />Strengthen - Improve and reinforce the desired goal through the use cf City <br />policies, staff and financial assistance, if needed. <br />Support -Supply the needed staff support, policies and financial assistance, if <br />needed, at all levels to achieve the desired goal. <br />Work - Cooperate and act in a manner through the use c� City staff, actions, <br />policies to create the desired goal. <br />The vision, goals, and policies set forth below are not to be considered as a <br />comprehensive and complete statement c� the total goals and aspirations c� the people <br />c� Roseville, but they do relate to the social and economic development, as well as the <br />physical development c� the City and for which the City Council has a primary <br />responsibility. The vision and goals are general objectives applying to the entire <br />community. After the goals, there is a listing c� specific policies relating to the various <br />facilities, land uses, and areas cf concern. These policies are the proposed methods c� <br />action the City will follow or use to complete the stated goals. <br />��, Cvmmuni�ty-Wide (General) <br />A. VISION STATEMENT <br />Roseville shall be a community which has as its highest priority the quality of <br />life - both for those who live here todav and in the future and for those who <br />, <br />work here. Roseville shall be committed to preserve, promote, and improve <br />the beauty, vitality, safety, and serenity of the total environment in which its <br />citizens live and work. F�.rthe� development of business and industry, <br />shopping, transportation, housing, entertainment, leisure and recreation <br />opportunities shall be in harmony with the commitment Roseville has made to <br />its environment and quality of life, without compromisingthe ability of future <br />generations to meet their own needs. <br />B. GENERAL LAND USE GOALS: <br />1. Maintain and improve the community character and identity; encourage <br />projects which strengthen our children, families, and neighborhoods. <br />2. Maintain the existing residential areas c� the City as designated on the <br />land use plan.
