Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes -September 08, 2009 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />1 providing training beyond that required and that provided by the majority of school districts <br />2 across the state. <br />4 Further discussion included pending commitment for the District's Equity Assistant to speak at <br />5 the upcoming HRC forum; and appreciation of Member McKenzie in keeping the HRC and City <br />6 aware of human rights news and issues throughout the state. <br />7 <br />8 Chair Singleton expressed sympathy to the City of North St. Paul, their Police Department, and <br />9 families in their loss of an officer over the Labor Day weekend, as well as to others involved in <br />10 this tragic event. <br />11 <br />12 Member Kennedy reported that in the recent drive for backpacks for children of poverty, <br />13 hundreds had been received, and she expressed appreciation to area churches for their generosity, <br />14 as well as to the community as a whole. <br />15 <br />16 VII. Adjournment <br />17 Chair Singleton adjourned the meeting at approximately 7:35 p.m. <br />
