The U�date summarizes the Ciiy's vision for the next 20 years or to <br />year �030. It includes growth forecasts that are consis�ent witi� the Cauncil's <br />forecasts for popuEation, households, and employm�nt. <br />Current wastewater treatment services are provided to the City by the Metropoliian <br />Gouncil Environmental Services. Wastewater generated within the City is conveyed <br />to ar�d treated at the Metropolitan Council's Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant locat�d in St, Paul. The City's wastewater can�eyance service is provided by <br />Council Interceptors 1-RV-430, 1-i�V-431, 1-RV-43�, �-RV-433, �-RV-433A, and <br />8851. The Update prajects it wili have 16,5d0 sewered households and 46,�00 <br />sewered employees by 2030. The Metropolitan Disposal Systern, with its scheduled <br />improv�ments, has or will harre adequate capacity ta serve the City's growth needs. <br />The Update pro�ides sanitiary sewer flow projections in 10-year increme�ts. The <br />rationale for tf�e projections is given in the Upcfate and determined appropriate far <br />planning for local services. <br />Roseviffe has been identified as a commur�ity impacted by wet weather occurrences. <br />The City is currently on the Council's list of communities having an infiow and <br />infiltra�ion {I/I) reduction goal, and is committed to mitigat� excessive I/I at levels <br />equal to the Council's Surcharge amount. <br />The City's I/I reduction plan includes an inspectian program for illegal sump purnp <br />and roof drain connections, inc�uding periodic inspecfiions to insure they remain <br />disconn�cted. The Cit� has alsa implemented a foundation drain/ser�ice line <br />inspection program with mandatory fallow-up improvements required whenever a <br />foundatian drain connection ta the sani�ary sewer is identified or whenever a pri�ate <br />service line is identified as being susceptible to I/I. inspections are prioritized based <br />on the results of a study conducted by ti�e City that identified those areas which <br />appeared to ha�e the highes� le�els of I/I. The City's I/I reduction plan includes <br />capital improvements aimed at remaving sources of I/I through televising the sewer <br />mains. <br />Tier II Cornments <br />The Tier Ii Sewer Element af the Update has be�n reviewed against the <br />requirements for Tier II Comprehensive Sewer Plans for developed communities, <br />and staff found it cor�sistent with Council polices. Upon adoptior� of the Update by <br />the City, the action of the Council to approve the Trer II Pian l�ecomes effective. At <br />that time, the City may implem�nt its Updat� to aiter, expand or impro�e its sewage <br />disposa! system consistent with the appraved Tier II Sewer Plan.
