Article 2. Definitions <br />Section 2.1 Definitions. Whenever used in the Plan, the following words and phrases <br />shall have the meanings set forth below unless the context plainly requires a different meaning, <br />and when the defined meaning is intended, the term is capitalized: <br />(a) "Code" means the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, <br />and any successor tax code. References to a Code section shall be to that section <br />as it now exists and to any successor provision. <br />(b) "Compensation" of a Participant means the total base salary or <br />wages paid to an employee including all paid leaves, banks and balances, vacation <br />pay, sick pay, and holiday pay. <br />(c) "Dependent" means an individual who qualifies as a dependent <br />under the terms of Section 152 of the Code without regard to subsections (b)(1) <br />and (b)(2) or (d)(1)(B). <br />(d) "Effective Date" means the effective date of this amendment and <br />restatement, which is January 1, 2009. <br />(e) "Eli�ible Emplo,�" means an employee who is eligible to <br />participate in the Employer's group sponsored health, dental plan and/or life <br />insurance plan(s). <br />2 City of Roseville MPD <br />
