<br />Associate Principal, Director of Urban Design
<br />Michael's experience includes 20 years of providing leadership in the development,
<br />management, and delivery of urban design services in the Twin Ciries and throughout
<br />the upper Midwest. He l�as led and collaborated on some of the most significant planning
<br />and redevelopment efforts in the Twin Ciries metropolitan area that l�ave incorporated
<br />Smart Growth, Transit-Oriented and New Urban principles and patterns, such as the
<br />Town Center/Park Commons (St. Louis Park) and the West Side Flats Master Plan (Saint
<br />Paul). His eapertise includes housing/mixed-use development, infilU redevelopment, new
<br />neighborhood design, transit-oriented development, and town centers.
<br />Micl�ael applies a collaborative approach�ften using community based participation
<br />techniques—to create balanced, sustainable places. Michael is ea� tremely eaperienced
<br />with organizing and direcring a variety of public participarion techniques including design
<br />charrettes, small group discussion formats, visual preference and surveys, priority ranking
<br />methods, and hands-on, inter-active workshops.
