E. If fewer applications are received than twice �he number of openings, <br />the City Council may establish a new application deadline and Council <br />Meeting for intier�ri�ws. If a new deadline is adopted, the vacancy will be <br />r�-advertised as described in "B" above. <br />F. Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council. The Chair and Vice <br />Chair of the Cammission to which the applicant is seeking appointrnent <br />will be invited to attend and participate in the in�erview process. A <br />minimum of five z�erribers of the Intervievv Team must participate in the <br />inierview process. Interviews are open to the public. <br />G. If a new vacancy occurs after an applzcation deadline and befare an <br />appointrr�ent is made, a n.ew application process vvill be used as <br />described in this procedure. <br />H. The City Councii wiil znake the appointmen�s at the first Council <br />meeting following intervie�rs. <br />I. Advisory Coz-nmission applica�ions shall be kepi on fi�e for ane year. If <br />during that year a vacancy occ�rs on any Commission, ail applicants will <br />be advised of the vaca�cy in writing. <br />II. <br />If a curre�t CommiSSinn mernber's term is expiri�g and is eligible for <br />reappointment, the following proceduare will be used. <br />A. No later �han si�ty (50} days prior to the expiration of a term, each <br />cammission member whose term is expiring shall be contacted in writing <br />and directed ta complete a written applicatian for reappointment if they <br />desire to be reappointed. For pearsons seeking reappointrnent, the <br />Council shall be advised af the attendance record of the individual whose <br />terzn is expiring. The Council will also be provzded with written <br />comments from the Chairperson of the Commission regarding the <br />reappointment oi the individual. At that time, the Council wil� cansider <br />whether to intervie�c7v the commissioner; if two cauncilmembers request, a <br />cornmissioner seeking reappointm�nt will be scheduled to attend an <br />interview befare the entire Council. <br />B. Should the Council det�rmine that the individual merits <br />reappointmer�t, that person will be reappointed. <br />C. Should the incumbent nn� wish �o be reappointed or should the <br />Council determine �hai the individual does not merit reappaintment, �he <br />Couz�cil will fallow the procedure for filling vacancies as described in I. <br />above. <br />3 <br />
