Resolutian I0266 <br />Amending Resolution 9372 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Ros�ville has five standing Advisory Cnmmissions: Public <br />Works, Environment and Transporta�ian; Human Rights; Parks and <br />Recreation; Planning; and Palice Civil Service. The City also es�ablishes <br />other advisory groups as needed. <br />Numerous Roseville reside�ts have volunteered tiheir tim� and skills <br />searviz�g as CommiSSion mernbers. The �fforts and comnnztxnent af these <br />volunteers have been an important ingredient in Roseville's quality of life. <br />POLICY STATEMENT: <br />�t is the inten� of this policy �a establish a fair �nd opez� notification and <br />selection process which encauarages all Roseville residents to apply for <br />appointment. <br />PROCEDURE STATEMENT: <br />I . <br />If a vacancy occurs because of resignatzo�, death, maving irarn the Ci�ty, <br />removal from. offzce, ineligibility %r reappaintrnent, eic., on any standin� <br />Advisory Cornmissian, the following procedure will be used. <br />A. When a Commission vacancy occurs the City Cauncil, at a reguiar <br />meeting, wi11 establish a deadline for receiving applica�ions and the date <br />a� the Cauncil Meeting to intervie�nr the applicants. The time betweez� the <br />applicatian deadline and interviews shall be na more than thirty (30) <br />days. <br />B. Co�mission vacancies will be advertised in the Roseville Revie�r and <br />Roseville Focus at least �wo (2) times befare the application deadline. <br />Vacancies vvil� also be adveriised on Cable Television and po5�ed on the <br />City Hall Bulletin Board. <br />C. Applica�ions received after th� deadline wi11 not be accepted. <br />D. Names of applicants and applications wzll be pravid�d to the City <br />Cou�rzei� and �he public after �he application deadline. <br />2 <br />
