Organizational City Council Minutes —1/5/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 15 <br />Nays: None. <br />F. Discussion of City Council Standing Rules of <br />Procedure <br />Maschka moved, Klausing seconded, to continue <br />discussion of this item until the City Council's first <br />scheduled work session. <br />Councilmember Maschka noted that he had several <br />suggestions he would like to bring forward to the full <br />Council meeting related to this item, but was not prepared <br />to do so at tonight's meeting, as he was still gathering <br />additional information; but was proposing several <br />additions, as well as several deletions from the current <br />Rules of Procedure. <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed his desire to discuss <br />the Rules of Procedure, and noted that the work session <br />format may serve as a more applicable; further noting that <br />the Council may wish to have interim Rules of Procedure <br />until the Council vacancy is filled following the Special <br />Election, to allow the new Council person adequate input <br />in the process. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed a desire for further and <br />more detailed discussion. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />G. Discussion of City Council Liaisons <br />City Manager Beets reviewed current liaison assignments <br />as per the staff report dated January 5, 2004, outlining <br />current liaisons and suggested alternatives to initiate <br />discussion. <br />Councilmember Maschka recommended that the Council <br />reaffirm those suggestions provided by staff in the report <br />to serve until Councilmembers had an opportunity to meet <br />with all department heads and committee chairpersons for <br />Discussionof City <br />Council Standing <br />Rules of Procedure <br />Discussion of City <br />Council Liaisons <br />
