EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 9th day of February, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. The following members were present: and, and the following were absent: . Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION xxxx WHEREAS, Voting is a basic privilege of citizenship in the United States and secrecy of the vote is an important part of the democratic process; and WHEREAS, The City of Roseville is committed to meeting the needs of all citizens regardless of age, disability or health status; and WHEREAS, Title TTI, section 301 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 requires that there be an accessible voting system in every precinct in the nation by 2006 for all individuals with disabilities, including non-visual accessibility for the blind and visually impaired, in a manner that provides the same opportunity for access and participation as for other voters, including privacy and independence; and WHEREAS, it is important that the City of Roseville, Ramsey County and the State of Minnesota adequately observe and test new voting equipment to ensure that all voters have the opportunity vote in secrecy and with ease. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville approves the use and testing of the AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminal at Precinct 6 during the Apri120,2004 Special Election.
