EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 9th day of <br />February, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: and, and the following were absent: . <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION xxxx <br />WHEREAS, Voting is a basic privilege of citizenship in the United States and <br />secrecy of the vote is an important part of the democratic process; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville is committed to meeting the needs of all citizens <br />regardless of age, disability or health status; and <br />WHEREAS, Title TTI, section 301 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 requires <br />that there be an accessible voting system in every precinct in the nation <br />by 2006 for all individuals with disabilities, including non-visual <br />accessibility for the blind and visually impaired, in a manner that <br />provides the same opportunity for access and participation as for other <br />voters, including privacy and independence; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important that the City of Roseville, Ramsey County and the State <br />of Minnesota adequately observe and test new voting equipment to <br />ensure that all voters have the opportunity vote in secrecy and with <br />ease. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville approves the <br />use and testing of the AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminal at Precinct 6 <br />during the Apri120,2004 Special Election. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Member, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof, <br />and .
