Mathwig noted that the department has forty-nine (49) sworn off'ices„ with 1/3 of the department hired within the last five (5) years, providing good energy on a positive note, but lacking expertise on the negative side. Lt. Mathwig noted that his was indicative of police department trends. Lt. Mathwig noted that the department's administrative support team's statistical database accuracy was at 98%, as recognized by data submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehensive (BCA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Lt. Mathwig defined reporting that included an average of 23,000 all-inclusive calls per year, with an average of 8,000 to 9,000 citations issued per year; in addition to an average of 20,000 contacts or stops per year (i.e., warnings, with no citations issued). Lt. Mathwig recognized the continued success of the City's crime prevention programs, through participation in National Night Out, and the local Community and Family Night Out, in an effort to meet people in non- confrontational situations. Lt. Mathwig summarized the "can do" attitude of the department in efforts to be progressive in problem-solving, not just reactive to situations. 1. No commercial atrol of�cer 2.
